The Snite Museum maintains an impressive schedule of temporary exhibitions, which cover a broad spectrum of art and promise to appeal to a wide audience. In the last half-year alone, it has hosted DIGNITY, an eye-opening selection of photos taken in five different poverty-stricken nations around the globe, and Artist in Residence: Working Drawings by Luigi Gregori, which showcased drawings by the Italian painter responsible for the interior decorations of Notre Dame's basilica and main building. The quality of these two exhibitions is a good indication of what art-lovers can expect when they visit the Snite. This, combined with the very generous donation of African art that the Snite recently received, should encourage children and adults of all ages to peruse this unviersity collection.

The Snite Museum of Art is hands down the premier venue for art in Michiana. Located outside the northwest corner of Notre Dame Stadium, the Snite Museum is a shining example that the Fighting Irish have invested just as much time and money into the fine arts as they have football. The diverse collection on display ranging from pre-Columbian to contemporary art provides visitors with a comprehensive and strikingly beautiful overview of the art world. From the Olmec to O’Keeffe the museum has it all. And oh yeah, it’s free!

The Snite Museum is a treasure! I'm a South Bend local and I visit all the time. Can't beat seeing beautiful artwork for free admission and parking. They also do a great job with their special exhibitions, so it's always worth going out to see.
