Antonio Banderas

Dreamed of playing soccer professionally until breaking his foot at age 14. Got started acting at an independent theater company in Málaga, Spain, in 1974. Did not yet speak English at the time of filming 1992's The Mambo Kings, so he had to learn his lines phonetically. Met wife Melanie Griffith when they both starred in the 1996 romantic comedy Two Much . Earned an honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Dickinson College in 2000.
