Cheech Marin (born Richard Anthony Marin on July 13, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA) is a comedian and actor, known primarily has one half of the comedic duo Cheech & Chong.
Marin met his long time comedic partner, Tommy Chong, in the late 1960s in Vancouver, British Columbia. The two would been collaborating on stand up routines, and released their first comedic album in 1971 called "Cheech & Chong." They would go on to released 8 total albums between 1971 and 1985.
The success of their stand up routines and albums earned them their first feature film in 1978 "Up in Smoke." The pair would go on to feature in many films until 1985 when the duo split up.
Cheech had many bit parts in movies and TV, his most well-known individual effort was starring as Inspector Joe Dominguez opposite Don Johnson on CBS' "Nash Bridges" in the late '90s and early 2000s.
Marin and Chong announced in 2008 that they were reuniting and have since gone on a world-wide tour, as well as announcing a new movie in production.
