Irish American Idol Competition (hosted by Al Kniola of WVPE’s “Back Porch” and the Michiana Celtic Society): Elimination Round at Fiddler’s Hearth Wed, March 3 at 8:15pm; finals Wed, March 10 at 8:15pm. Competitors must be at least 16 years of age and sing a traditional Irish song a cappella (without accompaniment). The winner receives a $200 cash prize and rides with the Grand Marshall in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade; appears live on WVPE’s “Back Porch” with Al Kniola; performs at St. Patrick’s annual ceili, Hibernian Corned Beef Dinner, and Fiddler’s Hearth on St. Patrick’s Day.
