Venitia Sekema is a folk, jazz and blues performer who wants listeners to “feel” her songs. Not one to be boxed in, she doesn’t stick to just one genre’ of music. Most have described her style as, “a little bit folk, a little bit blues and a whole lotta soul.” It appears she has set-out to dispel the myth about folk music, one song at a time. Whether it’s one of her own creations or her interpretation of a song that everyone knows, Sekema digs down deep and serves it up fresh.
