New West Guitar Group at the ArtsEverywhere Performing Arts Series

If you’re one of the lucky folks who made it to Merriman’s Playhouse to see New West Guitar Group last year (during a tremendous thunderstorm), you know how good this group of guitarists is. Based in Los Angeles, New West—which consists of members Jeff Stein, John Storie, and Perry Smith—combines the different timbres of acoustic and electric guitar to create a signature sound. Storie has a personal connection to South Bend and the Chris Wilson Pavilion, where the ArtsEverywhere Performing Arts Series… Show more is held: He’s one of Chris Wilson’s former students. in case of rain, the event will be moved to IUSB's Campus Auditorium in Northside Hall.

This year’s free Saturday night series has been expanded, featuring six evenings of some of our community’s best performing arts talent. You can bring a picnic dinner or buy it there: As in the past, Fiddler’s Hearth will offer food and drinks for sale at the park. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.

On Sunday, the members of New West Guitar Group will offer a guitar workshop for the public at Miller Guitar Academy at 2 p.m. More information on the workshop is available at millerguitaracademy.com.
